Late Breaking

Best. Engrish. Ever. Without a doubt - although closely contested by the 'Beantiful Dees' T shirt we got in the markets in Hong Kong - the first one is a T-shirt my Grandparents got Nick for Christmas and the second is a 'Care' tag from a hangbag I bought my Mum - great handbag, just beware those overweight loads of Sheng. Enjoy!

OK - so it's getting close enough, and someone is getting excited enough about 'Tanta' that we thought we would put our tree up. Just put a few pics up to try and envisage the excitement, especially as instead of an angel, we have a lovely birdy that Nicky and Daddy made - using 'man stuff' in the shed. One part Hoot from Giggle and Hoot and two parts Mighty Boosh don't you think?
A psychadelic happy Christmas to you all!

So - George and I have been lucky enough to have had a few nights out on the proverbial town in the lead up to Xmas etc so I thought I'd share my thoughts on a few locations; some to visit, some to avoid.
I'd steer clear of esquire on the Eagle St Pier (Sorry Julia...);purported to be one of Brisbane's first forays into molecular gastronomy but just tasted like the cooks had not actually eaten through the menu and realised that all they had done is exercised some impressive cooking techniques on a mismatched and lacklustre combination of ingredients.

Well the good news is that George has passed his final fellowship exams, so now only has time to serve until he is finally 'like a boss'. Such an enormous weight off our minds (collectively).
here's a great shot of him being 'welcomed' by the court of examiners. Pretty happy here - unlike 24 hours later - still hungoverf (but much deserved).
The bad news is that now it is my turn :-( But everyone knows you can't study unless you have new stationery - and officeworks has delivered.

So - its seems that now I am back to full time work that being overseas is the only time I have enough time to update the blog.
Currently in Lugano, Switzerland for the 11th Internation Conference on Malignantf Lymphoma, and not a bad location for a conference if I do say so myself. Happens every two years from here on in and it will be hard not to be back in 2013.

Even though I don't have much time (we must get going again) thought I'd just post a quick couple of photos from our fantastic trip up the California Coast - spectacular and more to come!

Well - finally on our holiday - Yay!
We came to Yosemite from our flight to LA and after some interesting driving (driving on the right side of the road not only feels strange from the drivers seat but even more from the passengers seat... You keep wondering where your steering wheel has gone...)
Nicky has an awesomely cute snow suit and has had his first play with snow (unfortunately not fresh, a little bit icy) and seen a squirrel (More?)
George is channelling his inner Ansel Adams and the scenery is just spectacular.

Well - nothing makes me feel festive like Christmas milk!
We are getting a cool tree this year - an awesome 'designy' one that Daddy is making (hopefully ready for Santa to leave some presents under!)
Afraid Christmas cards have kind of fallen by the wayside this year so a "Very Merry Christmas with best wishes to you all and your families" will have to suffice.
Looking forward to another busy year next year - with plenty more things to tell you all about on the way.
and a Happy New Year.and a Happy New Year.

So here's a great shot of the Lobby between sessions at the ASH meeting I am currently at. Gives you some idea of the scope of how they like to do things over here in the 'ol USA. Apparently they like to give an MCG style 'attendance record' somewhere towards the end so I'll let you know when I do but apparently around 40,000 compared to previous years.
Hopefully one of us will figure it out soon!

And this comes from someone who has worked at Qld Health - who provide International Roast...
And just in case you were wondering this was neither an Iced Coffee or Latte or Irish Coffee - just a plain coffee served in a ridiculous glass, ordered from a wonderful establishment at LAX, with my food voucher from Qantas (just like rations...) And I have no idea why it came with two straws...
If I ever get cancer I'm blaming this.
Bleuch...Bleuch...
